Michael Douglas` son has been attacked in prison
The 68-year-old actor`s eldest son Cameron Douglas - who is doing time for drug abuse and dealing - had his leg and finger broken behind bars after he became the target of a New York mobster.
According to the New York Post newspaper, a bounty of $100 was put on the 34-year-old troubled actor as pay back for telling police who his drug suppliers were.
`Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps` star Michael has previously spoken of his distress that his son is currently serving time in prison.
After doing a deal with prosecutors in 2009, Cameron was only supposed to serve five years instead of 10 for helping them with their investigation but earned an additional four and a half years for smuggling heroin and a prescription narcotic while at the Metropolitan Correctional Centre. Cameron - whose mother is Michael`s ex-wife Diandra Morrell Douglas - is now not eligible for release until 2018 at the earliest.
Michael has continued to support his son and regularly visits him at his Pennsylvania prison, according to RadarOnline.com.
The actor has two other children with his current wife of twelve years Catherine Zeta Jones, Dylan, 12, and Carys, 9.
